About the Team ...
La Vida es Corta--Paseo!
The Blue Suit Pacers are a collective membership of men & women permeating camaraderie & team spirit wherever they ride, whether recreationally or competitively. Established in 2005, the 25+ member team regularly takes to the paths, streets, & routes around Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Central Maryland enjoying the great sport of cycling while accomplishing fundraising activities for various charity events such as the American Diabetes Association’s “Tour De Cure”, the Multiple Sclerosis Society’s “Bike MS150”, and the Brain Injury Association of Maryland’s “Eat-A-Peach” Bike Ride. Additionally, the Pacers regularly participate in local events such as the Ride to Remember and the Bay Country Century supporting local area first-responder organizations and other events like the Lakes & Grapes Century and the Great Pumpkin Ride supporting local area groups such as the Rosner Family YMCA of Spotsylvania County and the Fauquier County Trails Coalition. Throughout their near 10 year existence, the Blue Suit Pacers have collectively raised more than $45,000 towards charitable activities and contributed support services & materials to several safety-focused showcase events in the Northern Virginia area like the annual News4 Health & Fitness Expo, Joint Base Anacostia Bolling’s Safety Day, and the annual National Ride of Silence (www.rideofsilence.com) honoring cyclists killed or injured as a result of altercations with motor vehicles...
If you’ve ever considered venturing out on the bike trails or routes around the Nation’s capital but were hesitant to do so for being “alone” or have been looking for an opportunity to share in the cycling experience with others but were tentative in your decision, then be encouraged to come out & ride with the Blue Suit Pacers! Monthly rides during the cycling season (late March through October) are usually held on the third Saturday and always conclude with a team lunch gathering at favorite local area culinary location; you can also join them for a charity cycling event as a non-riding participant to offer support for team logistics or “SAG” support, or just being there cheering on the team. Regardless of your skill level or cycling experience, this band of genuine-natured, quality-character associates are committed to sharing the comradeship of cycling together, one mile at a time—come join us on the ride!
